A my Hooks wanted to find a way to help out others while sipping martinis and enjoying the company of good friends. Ideas such as Tupperware parties and Bunco crossed her mind, but she wanted something sexier. And then along came a spider.
Hooks, along with her sister Kim Fotis and friend Jill Hagood, started up the Spider Web Club, a Web site that gives back to local charities by selling fashionable activewear, about a year ago.
"It's the new business model," Hooks says. "Even in the worst economic times, people still want to help .....
